Dan Flynn
Executive Director Emeritus @UC Davis Olive Center
Dan Flynn is the Founding Executive Director of the UC Davis Olive Center, leading the center’s efforts to promote olive research and education. He also oversees olive oil production for UC Davis, including overseeing the harvest and helping promote the product. The UC Davis Olive Center is a self-supporting university/industry coalition that is building California’s crop of the future. The world-renowned center brings together nearly 60 UC faculty members, research specialists and farm advisors who address the research and education needs of California olive growers and processors. The center also collaborates with institutions worldwide. Dan served as a legislative consultant to the California State Legislature for 17 years in a variety of policy areas and is the former owner and manager of a small farm in the Sierra foothills.
Dennis Burreson
VP of Field Operations & Industry Affairs @Musco Family Olive Co.
Dennis Burreson is VP of Field Operations and Industry Affairs at Musco Family Olive Co. and has been employed in the food industry for nearly 50 years. At Musco, he is responsible for the procuring of domestic raw product, managing all contractual relationships with the company’s growers, crop pricing strategy, negotiation and implementation; as well as logistics to the company’s storage sites. Additionally, he has maintained responsibility throughout his tenure for all Orland plant operations, where the company produces specialty products for the foodservice market. Dennis also serves as a Vice Chairman of the California Olive Committee and is Chairman of the Research Committee. He serves on California’s Governor's Special Exotic Pest Board and is the Chairman of the International Trade Committee for the California Olive Association. Dennis is also a key California Olive Association delegate to Washington, D.C.
